Effective local government is essential for those struggling to earn a livable wage, build successful small businesses, or access necessary job training. Nikki understands these challenges firsthand and will prioritize the needs of working families as we create a strong city that attracts and cultivates job creators. We also need to make sure that we are investing in our roads, infrastructure, first responders, and parks.

As your Council Member, Nikki will continue to:

• Fight for livable wages and good workplace conditions

• Champion entrepreneurs and small businesses

• Support workforce advancement through trade schools, technical training, and job placement

• Attract quality employers offering long-term, high-wage jobs for Tucsonans

• Retain our talented high school and college graduates with diverse opportunities

Attracting and building up businesses is only half the battle: we need to ensure our workforce is prepared for the future and well-equipped to work high-wage, high-quality jobs at all levels. As Tucson grows, we will need innovative approaches to continually adjust for an expanding population, aging infrastructure, and increased demands on City services. We can improve City services utilizing state of the art technology. As an IT professional, Nikki is prepared to lead our city in creating comprehensive long-term solutions. Nikki will embrace high-tech advancements to help us create a smarter, safer, and more efficient city.

As your Council Member, Nikki will continue to prioritize:

• Smart solutions to maintaining and repairing our roads and infrastructure

• Modernizing our traffic patterns and public transportation

• Accessibility and responsiveness of City services

• Resources needed to train, support, and retain our first responders

• Collaboration with other municipal regions and public-private partnerships

Making sure that our development is sustainable is a crucial part of building a city for the future. Energy and water efficiency not only protect our environment but also drive down utility costs, freeing up capital for other household, community, and business needs. Arizona, Tucson, and especially Ward 4 have amazing natural landscapes that deserve protection so future generations can enjoy them as we do. As climate change grows more severe, we need innovative ideas to aid in water conservation and the transition to more renewable energies. Nikki is committed to reaching Tucson’s climate change mitigation goals and keeping Tucson a vibrant, healthy city.

As your Council Member, Nikki will continue to:

• Advocate to make our parks more beautiful, accessible, and energy efficient

• Improve our environmental quality by reducing noise, light, and air pollution

• Encourage green infrastructure to benefit our health, environment, and economy

• Implement innovative stormwater and wastewater management systems

• Continue to expand the use of City property for capturing solar energy
